Can Connection speed be increased by calling Sky or BT line Exchange?

Hi everybody. I was wondering whether Connection speed can be increased by calling Sky or BT line Exchange? I live about 0.5 - 0.6 miles away from the my BT exchange and was wondering why my connection is still 4MBps. According to the stats it should still be in the range of 8MBps or above if I am not wrong.

Can anybody help or should I speak to BT or even Sky over this?

It is possible that you have been capped by sky to reduce your speed, normally if you have an unstable connection although, definately not by BT, as you are using sky's equipment on Max.

Read this, then post your router stats so the tech guys can have a look and see what is happening with your connection.

PLEASE READ FIRST: How to obtain and post router stats
