      Hey Sparkey.
I also received the leaflet and brochure from Sky.
They probably have to do this for legal reasons when
      they make changes.
I read the letter, but no way am I wading through 10
pages of tiny 6 point type to see the changes.
Hopefully I will never get into a legal dispute with Sky
      on terms and conditions.
      They will win.
P.S. Just seen where you posted the thread.
I wish to let it be known that I am not staff. LOL.

All I can see is something about Sky taking over from SHS, in the key changes bit, but there is no way I am wading through that lot. But I guess there is more so I suppose it was asking to much of them to provide us with what are actually the main updates as it can't be just that surely ?

Sorry to raise hopes, they appear to be the original ones having double checked them.

Re: NEW Sky broadband contract update

I got this yesterday as well. Skimmed over it last night and didn't spot anything significant. Was worried at first thought there was going to be a limit on bandwidth or something.

Re: NEW Sky broadband contract update

3c in the terms and conditions refers to the broadband box being yours once you have installed it

wether you keep it or sell it is entirely upto the person concerned

some companies like Be have a clause in the contract where it is stated that the router that is supplied is loaned and when the client stops the service then they have to return the box or pay 60 or the like.

Re: NEW Sky broadband contract update

      What concerns me.

      Clause 3
      1. Sky will provide a broadband box under the contract
      2. Your broadband box (except the software in it) will become your property when its installed.
      3. Sky broadband must only be accessed via the broadband box.
      4. Your broadband box comes with 12 months warranty.
So, If you HAVE to use their equipment and it fails outside the warranty period:
      • Who pays for a replacement? After all, without a box you cannot access the service?
      • Do you cancel the contract and then restart to get another box?
      • Who controls how much sky can charge for the box?
      Also:

      Clause 2
      • Can only be used by members of your household. - OK but if granny wants to have a look you are in breach of contract.
      • Each user must have their own username and password. - What is the point of this unless they all want their own mail accounts.
