Re: NEW Sky broadband contract update

Well we know there is a new router arriving soon, and we think that it is made by SAGEM - maybe there is a facility for multi accounts etc, and Sky are doing a preemptive T and C's change.

AFAIK any T and C's change should allow you the option to get out of your existing contract if you do not agree to the new T and C's. But don't quote me on this.

Also don't forget there is VOD coming along soon, and I wouls assume that Sky would want to marry the Sky / Sky+ / HD boxes to the router somehow so you could download etc. Maybe this is why you must have your account etc.

As for the EBAY thingy, I reckon it is because of the router containing the Username and Password which can be obtained by the new user, as suggested in the other thread.

i got mine today and it does say.....
your broadband box (except software in it) will become your property
so to me that means if you remove their software before selling it (which we know can be done) then thats fine, but thats just my interpretation

also the FUP on it looks very fair and full of chances if you break it

      10. How we can change the Conditions

      (a) We cannot change or add to Conditions 6(b), 6(c), 9 and 11(c)(ii) or this Condition 10(a) except for security, legal or regulatory reasons.

      (b) We may change any other Conditions. However, if you reasonably consider that you have been disadvantaged by this you may end this Contract under Condition 11, even if you are within your Minimum term

      (c) you will recieve at least one calandar month's notice of any changes or additions to these Conditions. We will not use this right to vary the terms of any special offer which applies to you.

so (b) would apply to that then

Smile Re: NEW Sky broadband contract update

      Hi there,
I've heard also about this rumour saying that sky would go with SAGEM for the next-gen wireless router. Let me share with you my feeling re this: this is an excellent news. Why that? Just because sagem is a company dedicated to this kind of service provider project by supplying state of the art devices, reliable and with cutting-edge technos. I inquired a lil bit more about sagem. OK apart from the mobiles and the terrestrial decoders, their ADSL devices business unit is having a great success all over europe through significant deals won. Maybe I am a lil bit too conservative with a preference for european suppliers - it's because I'm just fed up with the chinese or tawainese sheet we are used to get either from our ISP or from the retail...
Knowing sky, I am pretty confident in this future router. So I'm ready to bet on the sky-sagem solution! I can't hardly wait!!!
BTW: seems like sagem router would support new services as you mentioned... VoD is in the pipe also! Might there be a future withour satellite? / IP is so promissing!
