Why has the home page still got articles well out of date

Why has Skyusers home page still got articles well out of date. For example it still has a very old article how to tune into the ITV HD channel manually with the then new EPG but of course it's been available for quite a while now on the EPG itself And their are alot of other articles well of date. I would like it been updated once in a while and some of the articles deleated as they are out of date.

NewsreadeR has been the chief person posting articles on the home page. For some time now he has been busy doing other things.

Perhaps something else could be arranged?

      Hi Ian

As Scubbie says, I have been busy in real life.

Feel free to suggest new articles, we are here to listen.

Statistically, we have more visitors to the /forum domain then the root, so we have (rightly or wrongly) never really considered it a prority.

Promise to try and keep it more up to date in the future though.

My favourite is to the new posts part of the forum. I never hit the actual home page.

Perhaps the home page could be more focused on the hot topics in the forum or the most recent posts? This would auto keep the home page up to date. I suppose having an out of date home page could deter potential new members.

Re: Why has the home still got articles well out of date

I am like Red, I hardly ever look at the Home page, once I have finished my notifications, it is straight to the New Posts button.. Having had a look, I don't really see much wrong with it. All the news sections are up to date and apart from one thing the Help and Support pane is still relevant. The part that is not quite correct is the ITV HD entry, it needs ' out with the ITV area' added to the end of it. North of the Border we do not get ITV HD on the EPG, although we get ITV 2,3, and 4HD.

Re: Why has the home still got articles well out of date

There are a few other stories that are a little dated.

The headline story ticker could be updated more frequently.

The 'Sky Info' section has price changes on the front going back to July this year, which although important and relevant, are getting dated. The October price articles appear to be identical and cover offers which are expired.

Rather than putting the pressure on NewsreadeR to come up with more articles, is there anyone out there who would be interested in composing relevant articles which could be featured on the front page?

Currently some members copy & paster links & articles from other sites. Perhaps it would be nice for anyone who has an interest in journalism to use the site as a good portal to show their work?

If there are any, perhaps they could make themselves known and submit articles via NewsreadeR?

There is a link to submit articles at the bottom of the Home page.
