      Welcome to the newest member.....

      Guy's

I know it's nice to welcome a new member to the site etc but does it have to be an auto created thread?

The reason I ask is that I like to use the 'New Posts' function to catch up on what's happened that day but it seems filled up with these somewhat nugatory welcome posts. What are your thoughts?

I tend to agree, isn't the fact that the newest member is announced on the main forums page enough ?

      I also agree.

Is the Sky News links also auto generated as they seem to duplicate from time to time (perhaps when sky update the story).

Whichever you see as the most feasible. I find it all a bit cluttered when they come up as a huge list.

The Sky news is run by an RSS feed and updated by a cron job every hour. We will look into this to see if we can change etc to a happy medium for all users.

When we have a new member, at the moment this is automatically generated as the idea was it adds all the info to that post re how to log in etc.
