      Ok, please do the following:

      Click <Start> <Control Panel> <Internet Options> <Connections>

You should now have 3 radial buttons. Select 'Never dial a connection' & Click <Ok> to save the settings. You can also close the Control Panel window afterwards.

See if you can now access the Internet without dialling up through the 3G Dongle.

If you can't, then can you do the following:

Click <Start> <Run> type 'cmd' and click <Ok> type 'ipconfig' and press <Return>

You are looking to see if the IP address looks something like '192.168.0.2' and the Default Gateway should be '192.168.0.1'

If it doesn't look like this, copy & paste the results in a PM to me. The results could contain your IP address & MAC address for your home network & computer, so it is not advisable to post them in public.

There is likely going to be one of two things that could be happening:

      1. the adaptor isn't connecting to the Sky router
      2. you've manually set up the network adaptor's IP address and it needs correcting

Genius! Option 1 fixed it. Changed settingon IE to Never dial a connection and it works now.

Thank you so much for sharing your expertise - I am so grateful.
