      Unnamed Network - Unsecure Network

Hi, i've been wrestling with a problem for a few days and the official Sky tech help were less than useful. I was trying to beef up my wifi security via 192.168.0.1/ webpage, ie changing passwords, encryption keys etc, but failed to realise that i should have been connecting via cable because as soon as i put changes in i got disconnected. This caused an anomaly to occur whereby everytime my router is turned on now, two simultaneous networks are being detected from my router, the newly configured secure one (which i am connected to now) and an 'unnamed network - unsecured network' which is not connected but i cannot remove it. Sometimes the latter is detected only and i have to enter the name of the configured one for it to be detected. Any ideas what i can do to remove the unsecure network and just have the correctly configured one?

I think that is the same as Win7, try this -
Windows key, type network and, select Network and Sharing Centre, click"Manage wireless networks."
From here you can change the search & connect order for wireless networks and delete any network you don't want.

Re: Unnamed Network - Unsecure Network

Unfortunately the 'unnamed unsecure ' network is not listed in this section, only the configured one

Re: Unnamed Network - Unsecure Network

You could try resetting the router. Press and hold the reset button for around 10 seconds when the power is on.

As for clearing up what may be in your Wireless settings, Tom was correct. Provided that you have tried to connect to it, the SSID will be listed. If you haven't attempted to connect, then it will not be listed.

Re: Unnamed Network - Unsecure Network

What you can try, is attempting to connect to the Unsecured network. If it connects disconnect and go through the procedure again, if it is now appearing in the list, remove it.
