      The two things are totally different, swearing or whatever is unneccessary and contributes nothing - the other apect has a contribution

      If someone want to post a router command for example that provides useful information, they are not immediately told they cannot discuss this. I am quite happy with no swearing no abuse no advertising or whatever - i am not happy about being told to stop discussing aspects about the service, router, or whatever be it against sky's t&c's or not

      @wheelie

      It's the same as the law.

      If you question a law you think is wrong/stupid, you're not saying all laws are wrong/stupid are you?

      How about "how to hack the kak out of your sky-bodged router"?

      Seriously, I propose that moderation be limited to removing those posts that are a criminal offense only. After all, Pandora's box is already open, so no point in trying to shut it again. Also, half the posts that say "this is a breach of Tc and Cs" incorrect. Finally, if the moderations are too draconian, people will just leave and take their knowledge elsewhere.

      my only worry is people posting commands on purpose that may purposely muck up the router

      I've no intention of breaking yours or Sky's rules. Trust me. I read Sky's T&C's front to back numerous times before deciding to publish what I did.

      As i said before you did good work, but please remember a lot of people, myself included, are not technically competent like yourself and others.
      Perhaps something I too shouldn't otherwise assume in future.

      As for your website, there is nothing to stop you adding that to your profile.
      Good idea. Will do so shortly.

      But surely other technically knowledgeable members would alert you to such malevolent commands?

      How about if the forum belongs to a closed group so it is not openly available across the net?

      Ie We set up a (and dont take this the wrong way) Geek type forum, it is not visible unless you specifically ask for the permission via PM.

      In the PM we send back we actively state that we do not condone or recommend that you do this.

      This way it is behind closed doors, and you agree that all hacking type posts stay in there? So not public knowledge. That way any inexperienced users cannot obtain the information, without purposely going out of their way to see it.

      An understandable worry, but the worst case scenario is not a reason not to do things. There are enough decent people (and moderators of course) on this forum to act as honest guides.

      EDIT: Jose, you type so much faster than me!
