      In which OS. I use Vista Home Prem with the latest Adobe and Print screen / Alt Print screen / snipping tool works for me.

      I'm on XP, there was a new program on the program list that I hadn't installed and looking it up it is a new DRM thing from Adobe to block copying of Acrobat files even with print screen.
      I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

      Works fine now, no warnings at all, cleared my cache so perhaps something was around which got flushed out with your tinkerings newsreader?
      (been at work all day so first chance to reply really)
