      Screensaver Ads - Spyware?

      Hi,

Im sure this was mentioned before, But after searching, I cant seem to find that thread!!

      This ad >> http://i10.tinypic.com/6p6sf8w.png
Was linking to Screensavers.com - screensavers.com | Web Safety Ratings from McAfee SiteAdvisor .

And to be honest, That is pretty poor. I wouldnt visit it personally. But I guess if someone who didnt know, Clicked it and loaded the software and got the nasties would be pretty damned annoyed at SkyUser even though SkyUser dont actually have anything (really) to do with it.

      Re: Screensaver Ads - Spyware?

We do have the ability to block domains from showing ads, I have added the domain Screensavers.com to the list.

I presume it was this thread?

      Sky User showing as spyware?

I would like to point out, that we do not show the ads, we sell the space on the site for the ads to appear. And also like to add that, we will act on and then ban the Ads that are reported to us as potentially malicious.

When I did the virus scan this week, SkyUser was given a clean bill of health by f-secure.

      Re: Screensaver Ads - Spyware?

Must have been a false positive.

The real annoying thing is that the Ad Agencies allow red sites to advertise. There should be a ban on sites that are red, and they are not allowed to advertise until they get themselves green.

Any website could get flagged up as linking to a red site, when in fact all you are doing is selling space. One of the major reasons why we will not allow popup or redirect adverts. We value our green status too much.
