      Re: New Ads

We have now accepted the proposition for the new advertising on our website, and so our adverts will remain as they are as at today.

Accepting this opportunity means that we can now plan for the future and make changes and constantly evolve as a community for the benefit of all.

Sky User has always been free to use for all of our members, as well as guests, and will continue to remain this way for the long term future.

Recently we have added the following:

      • Sky User Speed Tester and in less than one month we have used 40gb of data transfer.
      • Our new look forum design

      Planned for roll-out soon:

New look CMS (Content Management System) for the Home Page, this will include news, articles and reviews, as well as the home of our new tutorials.

For those of you interested in how much a site like SkyUser costs to run, we have spent well over 4k since March this year, building the site as it is today.

This includes all of the designing, software and licensing (which we now own, compared to leasing it) Servers and maintenance, Speed Tester Script / Hosting, Gaming Servers, and of course the Sky User Radio Licensing.

      Ged and Glenn.

I would like to echo what has already been said.

It may have cost 4k to build, But you can never set a value on a site as great as SkyUser.

      Keep up the great work!

      Re: New Ads

Hi I just clicked on one of the front page adverts and noticed that McAfee site advisor turned Red. This can't be a good thing.

Which ad was it? I looked at the ads on the front page now and all were green in Site Advisor.

      Re: New Ads

Im no expert, But my understanding would be that the tracking cookie sent Mcafee off.

What this tracking cookie is, Is a little bit of code that most probably contains a digital ID of SkyUser. Now because it is a tracking cookie McAfee flags it up as being anti-Privacy also because it doesnt delete itself till after a certain amount of time, Imo, Nothing to worry about.

Cookies are relatively (9/10 times they are safe) safe things.

      Re: New Ads

Just checked it again the thing is that you grt a different advert each time you refresh the page. The one I am talking about is in a box on the right hand side of the screen. Yesterday it said win a PS3 today it says win an Ipod. This is the link it takes you to site advisor goes red and if you check the site it says stay well clear or you will be hammered by spam.
