I've been an idiot for months just clicking on 'new posts', not realising I was missing loads of stuff.

It should be all the forums that have posts entered that your usergroup has access to. IE SkyUser Member - admins and mods obviously see extra posts.

      Re: "New Posts"

I have a question along similar lines.

When I am away from the site for a while I see in each forum every thread that I have not read, but some of those threads I had already and they do not show as having been read unless I click on the all threads read link at the bottom of the forums index page.

Usually if you are away from the forums for say 5 hours when you return only those threads in those 5 hours will show up as having not been read, and not any from say 6 or 7 hours ago.

      I hope that makes sense.

The database only updates the thread views once an hour, so that is probably the reason for that one.

I don't know on that one. Will try and find out though

      Re: "New Posts"

I use a RSS reader (feedreader) to read the forum but it will only display new threads and the posts within those new threads at that moment.

Should a post be added after the thread has been read it will not update in the RSS reader to indicate that there is a new post.

      Re: "New Posts"

What URL is it subscribed to?

We have introduced a feed icon at the top of the page,

      http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/external.php?type=RSS2

Currently it is subscribed to http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/external.php?type=RSS2 but is there an alternative I should be using?
