Can't get email set up on Windows Mail

      Hi

Have been using Sky User for nearly 2 years...after the last disruption to the server and seeing on various threads that Sky User may not be needed anymore I have been trying to set up a non Sky email on Windows Mail. This hasn't worked...I have no idea why...so I have tried putting it back to Sky User and now that doesn't work! Does anyone have any ideas? All help appreciated.

Re: Can't get email set up on Windows Mail

I've just changed the outgoing to send.one.com and changed it to 993 but now the error message coming up says The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.
The rejected e-mail address was . Subject 'does it work', Account: 'imap.mjpromo.co.uk', Server: 'send.one.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 5.7.1 Sender address rejected: not logged in', Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
      Any suggestions?

According to to the guide above. The outgoing port should be 465. The incoming port is 993.
Make sure you have ticked both connection requires ssl boxes

Re: Can't get email set up on Windows Mail

I am not certain about this but will you not have to use the Sky/Yahoo server to send your mail. Setting the account up as outlined here should give the appearance only that it is being sent from the other server, not that it actually is being sent from that server.

Set your account up in the Yahoo settings as per the link, then set the outgoing server in your mail client to smtp.tools.sky.com. See how that works out by sending some test messages.
