      Still not working, though work around by turning Avast off is allowing me to send mail.

      Looking at the Avast forum it appears that others (with different ISP's) have had similar problems though these appear to have been resolved.

      Also just found out that by un ticking the 'scan outbound messagesl' in Avast mailshield all works fine.

      I'm also having similar problems from my Smartphone.

      For many years I have used my own email domain which 'fronts' a Gmail A/c, which is configured to use the skyusermail SMTP server (Port25 TLS) so that my own email domain & not the Gmail A/c with 'On Behalf of' appearing in sent emails.

      My main computer is Win7x64, Outlook2010 with Microsoft Security Essentials AV. (NO Avast anywhere)

      Over the Weekend I replaced my HTC HD2 (Windows Phone 6.5) with a Samsung Galaxy S3 (Android ICS). Sent emails are appearing in the SENT box on my PC's Gmail web interface, but the vast majority aren't arriving at the recipients. Very simple 'Test' emails to various other email A/Cs I have are mostly not arriving. I sent one with 5 recipients & only one got through.

      From my PC, If I go into Gmail Configuration > Edit email address > Send mail through your SMTP Server? & simply press SAVE CHANGES, I get a warning message
      Authentication failed. Please check your username/password.
      [Server response: Unspecified Error (SENT_SECOND_EHLO): Protocol error code(0) ]


      Trying port 465 or SSL doesn't help.

      I would appreciate some help.
