How to apply for a SkyUser SMTP account

It's a good mix of members that are using this service, new and older ones.

As for people joining SkyUser, in the last month over 1600 members have joined us, although obviously they haven't all signed up for the SMTP service.

SMTP sign up's are starting to settle down to around the 5 to 7 a day mark.

this is a great service!

I have found some what of a hack though, at least until you guys activate my smtp!

But this so called "hack" is troublesome... and needs me to re-enter my username for both my pop details and my sky smtp details, plus it changes the "recieved" email addy to the sky one, but then again, i just edited the "return address" so that when people do click reply it still comes to me!

We now have 304 Users using the sevice with no reported problems after initial setup.

Just applied. Thanks very much for offering this free service. I havent been able to send eny outgoing mail through outlook since joinnig SKY on Monday. Kept having to use webmail! This will make things alot easier.

Hi I am still very confused about all of this...

I had and still have sky broadband and also am suffering like many people of being unable send emails using my company domain name.

I have been activated and filled out the form as per procedure... What is my password for the SMTP outgoing server... My username as per the PM sent to me is as per this forum but whats the actual password for it ?

Also do I enable SPA ??? I know we dont enable encrupte SSL is this correct ?

according to the instructions above, YOU were supposed to supply the password when you applied for a skyuser smtp, so did you do that?

When you requested an SMTP account, you provided your forum username and a password. This was then set up for you and confimred by PM from us to you.

To set this up, you need to use your forum username, and the password, that you sent to us on your application. This is not the same password as the forum one, unless you chose to send us that info.
