Here is how to for Outlook Express.

Open Outlook Express

From top menus choose tools>accounts.

Select mail tab.

Select a mail account and then click properties box on the right hand side.

Select the servers tab, and in outgoing server box enter "mail.skyusermail.com"

Next tick the box at the bottom of the tab labelled "my mail server requires authentication". Click "settings" next to it, and after selecting "log on using" button, enter your username and password as supplied in smtp confirmation message from skyuser. (These are the ones that you sent to SkyUser on your SMTP application, as we no longer send these in the confirmation PM)

Make sure "log on using secure password authentication" is not selected.

Click ok, apply, ok, etc

et voila.

If you have multiple email accounts, you will need to repeat entire procedure for each account listed in the mail accounts tab.

Re: How to setup with Outlook Express

First off:

1) Have you applied for an account and had confirmation that it has been set up?

2) mail.skyuserrmail.com is the wrong information - it's mail.skyusermail.com

Aha! That's the answer. Succinct, and accurate. Thank you, SatDish. Perhaps my fingernails can start to grow back now . . .

Have you applied for an SMTP account?

Just signing up to the forum doesn't grant you access to our SMTP.

Have a read of this to see if it helps you.

How to apply for a SkyUser SMTP account

Read the first post in that thread, all the information is in there. If you haven't already sent an application, do so, then we can set this up this evening for you.

If you have already applied, then I haven't seen the application (it gets emailed to us) then reapply, in case there has been a glitch.
