At the moment, yes it covers the traffic over the LAN. I know Janusz is trying to make the BW Meter so that it reads the WAN traffic only. Hopefully this will be in a future release.

Yes. Newsreader is right. We are working on it, but its very difficult, very few bandwidth meters actually do it.

I used the band width meter for a while but not only it kept crashing frequently on me. I also takes into account all the data transfer on the network. So when I listen to music or watch streamed video from my PC to ps3, it also shows up. Hence doesn't give me the stats I would like to see.

Re: SkyUser Bandwidth Meter (open beta)

I really like the sound of this utility. However, I'm running LINUX (Ubuntu 8.10) on my main desktop PC. I don't suppose there is (will be) a LINUX version of this package?

      Cheers

Re: SkyUser Bandwidth Meter (open beta)

      What am I doing wrong?

I don't seem to be able to get any results displayed by the programme.

I have downloaded the Bandwidth meter from the link in NewsreadeR's first article and installed it, but then when I click on the programme I get the usual question about an unidentified programme want to run, I say "yes" but then I get absolutely nothing more.
Nothing appears as a programme that can be read from and when I go into Task manager I get no mention of Bandwidth Meter.

      Anyone help?

      I'm using Vista

Fred, Don't you have the meter's little black box to click on in your task bar ?

It does not run as a Task, but as a Process. If you open that list you will find it there. You should see a black box, which shows a green line when you are downloading. Right click this and it will bring up the menu. Select 'Full bandwidth stats' to bring up your usage.
