is there any particular reason that you need the Bandwidth Monitor?

There might be something more suitable that a member may be aware of.

I've used a program called NetStat Live for several years on Windows 98 & XP. It can work on some Vista computers, but not all.

Not only does it show your current data transfer, but also it shows monthly stats.
Thanks Scubbie, I was just curious whether we actually use less than 2 Gig a month these days and so could save 7.50 a month by downgrading.

It is quite easy to go over your limit.

Download a couple of YouTube videos or watch something on BBC iPlayer in HD and suddenly your usage goes up.

With Anytime+ finally being rolled out to the remaining Sky+ HD STBs, more people are going to be increasing their usage too.

From what I understand too, Sky tend to measure your usage on a daily basis too.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Yep, on reflection I'm wasting my time, I bet it will be over 2 Gig for some months; I don't do much streaming, but wife and daughter have been known to - and very occasionally I miss recording something and even bbc iplayer sd is about 800 Mb !
Not into anytime+, we have trouble getting through our recordings as it is, lol, and not really interested in mainly US content. The fuss over Sky Atlantic has passed me by...

It is scary what we do with our Internet connections now.

Soon your daughter (if not already) will be using it for homework too.

Yes, I'm being greedy, cos just a few years back 7.50 for unlimited internet access would have have seem the stuff of dreams And with the exception of the odd "funny" day, sky maintains a good broadband speed.

Re: SkyUser Bandwidth Meter (open beta)

Does anyone know of a similar piece of software that does work under Windows 7 (x64) or with a Mac?

I'm on Sky Unlimited here but would be still interested in knowing my BB usage.

Edit: Found one The ThinkBroadband usage tools works with Win7
