Sky, please switch to a 24-hour clock!

A 24-hour clock might also enable the Live Sports listing to be shown in correct time order. The Sky EPG programmers seem to be the only coders in the known universe yet to master sorting by date/time.

I guess the Military adopted the 24 hour clock because if the importance of getting timings right - it is a much more logical system and less subject to confusion.

It seems VERY ILLOGICAL to me that
      If 9pm is 9 o'oclock at night
      & 10pm is 1 hour later
      & 11pm is 1 hour later still
that 12pm should be 13 hours later ( midday ) and not a further hour later

Systems which are logical are much more intuitive than those in which one has to remember a number of rules to get things right.

For some reason though i'm a 12hr am/pm type of person because my brain just gets there that tiny bit quicker when i see it.
Almost in the same way that metric beats imperial hands down, yet i'd never describe someone's height as "1.83 metres" because they're 6ft.

I agree that sky should offer the choice.
We're all different after all & how hard can it be?
Hmm, I've never had any relation to military. I have always had 24 hour clock since I was an infant. AM/PM always feels alien to me.

12 hour clock always feels dirty.

24 hour clocks should be left with the military where it was designed for.
      Close, but no banana
Referred to as military time, but the 24-hour time system has its origins in the Egyptian astronomical system of*decans, and has been used for centuries by scientists, astronomers, navigators, and*horologists.*

I think, archaic as it sounds, is a good old petition and take the signatures to them. I has worked against other huge companies so why not. Nothing to lose, eh? If we get to them, I'll remind them I know about sustainable energy and guess I'd make their balls boil.

      Re: Sky 12 Hour Clock

The Egyptians were the first to use the 24 hour
System, deacons and scientist, not only the hush pressured jibe.
Military - "bogey at 17:00" as poopsed to "bogey at 5" .....which 5.....you're dead. In a split second environment, we're talking a nano-hair's second, you dont have time to say "which 5" as the **** of death trickles down your leg. Also sprigs are so overindulged they Ramsay "see you at 4". Which 4? It may be obvious due to current circumstance, but there is a situation, this has one clear week point that can be explored. 16 is unmistakable.

Some people think the 12/24 hour clock is confusing. Just wait until the clock goes metric...
