You'll have to manually reformat the hard drive. There's nothing left to try. The hard drive may be on its way out. Your recordings will be wiped, unfortunately, but we've run out of fixes to attempt.

Switch the box off at the mains. Hold down and keep holding down the Left and Right navigation buttons on the digibox either side of the Select button. With the nav buttons held down, power on again at the mains. When the circular blue light appears, let go of the nav buttons and press Select. The blue light will circle backwards and the reformat will begin.

When the box returns to standby, wait 5 minutes, then boot up to view.

Try some more recordings, but if the problem re-appears, it's time for a new hard drive, or box.

I have way too much on the box to wipe it so i'll keep this bookmarked and when the time comes i will do the above.

I must be doing something wrong here.

I have tried the above your the box and the remote but nothing happens.

My Sky box is in Stand by (red light on)
I switch off at the wall
      Leave 5 minutes
Have the < and the > buttons on the box pressed as I switch on the box
The red light appears again but no blue light.

      What am I doing wrong?

      Thanks

Nothing. The circular blue light should appear. If not, the hard drive cannot be formatted. Either the hard drive has a fault, or the SATA connector needs reseated, or the power supply unit is faulty.
