Sky Anytime Very Disappointing
Technically it’s a very clever idea, although unlike The Planner it cannot tell you what you have viewed and what you have not.
The programme content is an absolute disaster, and thinks that the majority of us are Kids. I have several times disabled Sky Anytime which deletes the whole content and starts loading again when enabled, Doing this also seems to give you a fresh supply of new programes, again mainly of a childish nature.
I also checked with a friend who has Sky + and it appears another persons Sky Anytime does not run the same programmes as someone else’s. The person who chooses what programmes to force into someone’s box needs to somehow act a little more responsible as what to thrust down someone’s box. Anyway I have now disabled Sky Anytime to give my hard Drive a rest. Mabel I will put it back on in a year’s time when Sky has got their act together. Agree that the content isn't that great. I don't have movies or Sports, yet I seem to get a box full of this content which I can't watch. Maybe its a ploy to try and get me to sign up for Movies and Sport, which will never happen.
I did watch the new Ross Kemp on Gangs the other day, so I didn't bother to set up a series link. I was annoyed when I found that they were only putting the 1 episode on Anytime !! Luckilly Sky One and Two repeat the programs so much, that you don't really need the Anytime service.
It could be a good tool, much like Virgins On Demand, but I still think its to try and get you to upgrade your package, rather than give you decent content regularly.
Disable Anytime. It's for you to decide what your box records, (I know you cannot use the whole HDD) not some spotty herbert with a second class degree in media studies from Leciester poly or some such place.
I think Sky Anytime is pretty good and often watch a lot of content on there.
What would be smart, is if it learnt what you watch and then delivered content similar to it.
I watch a lot of Discovery Channel programming, etc so Anytime could send related stuff in stead of kids programming, which I am highly unlikely ever to watch. They can fill the other box with kids stuff, as that's the box my kids watch.

I find it very useful. If there is anything there I would like to watch I record it into my Planner. I can then watch it at my convenience. It is especially useful for the Premier films as you can put them on your Planner without having to record in real time. It would be even more useful if you could select the type of program you want on it.
