Movies scrabbled/deleted from Sky + upon cancellation of Sky +?

Hi Guys

We phoned Sky to cancel Sky Movies from our subscription. The guy on the other end of the phone said that if we did this any programs we had recorded would be deleted from our Sky + Planner as a result of no longer paying for the Movies services. Is this true?

I am thinking of investing in a DVD recorder if it is to copy some movies over that we wouldnt mind watching again.

Yes that is correct, the recordings will remain but you won't be able to view them.

Would that be ALL recordings or just subscription based ones (ie recorded movie channels)? I thought Sky+ was free of any extra charges now?

Sky+ is free if you have an active Sky TV subscription. However you would only be able to watch the recorded channels that you have on subscription.

ie No Movies sub, no watching recorded Movies programs.

Whatever you remove from your subs, sports or movies etc will no longer work if you have recorded them.

If you want to keep anything, back them up onto your dvd recorder before you remove the subscription. Then delete them from the box to free up the space.
