Sky+

I've had Sky+ for a week now and it is excellent. I'm very pleased with it.

I have 1 query though. When my box (Thompson) is in standby it appears that the hard disk is still spinning as I can hear a whirring noise.

Is this normal? Is there a way of turning the hard disk off until it is needed?

It is possibly filling the Anytime section up with programs to watch at a later date. You could try turning the Anytime off to see if it solves it for you, if of course you don't use it.

Ya I think it anytime as well was on my sky+ use to get that noise.

I've not got Anytime. It says in the instruction manual that I should have it. I can't see it on the menus anywhere though

I have a Thomson Box and it's noisy. Since getting it we have the volume up at least two bars more than we would need to before we got it. It's just a noisy box I think, seems to stay cool which is the main thing I suppose.

Anytime on my box is accessed by going to TV Guide and pressing the red button at the first screen.

anytime took over 2 weeks to activate on my thompson box
get loud whirring on start-up each morning after auto standby cut s in around 1am
apart from that dont notice noise during normal use
