It's OK, I've discovered the answer myself! I've worked out how to enter my username and password into the Sky application on my mobile phone. Will see tonight when I get home if it's worked or not...

I have been using remote record on my old mobile quite well. However I have a new mobile now and want to install the remote record app on it. Whenever I go to sky active to tell it I've changed my phone I get an error message stating the connection was interupted (error 111) and try later or call sky support.
I don't have 2hrs to hang on the phone so I emailed them only to be given istructions on how to go through sky actice ???? WHY DONT THEY READ EMAILS?
Does anyone know if there is another way of receiving the remote record application, and why isn't it on the web site?

Had Sky+ installed this week, and have activated the remote record feature.
I haven't tried to record anything by SMS and my phone is not compatible with the software. Not a problem....i'll use Sky.com.
Once in the TV listings, I select a program well in advance and always get the message "Sorry, it's not possible to remote record right now. Please try again later". Very frustrating. Have a friend who has no troubles using this service from the website.
Anybody have any ideas?

Well nearly sorted it out, but then discovered my new phone is not compatible with remote TV etc - a bit odd? why does my 4yr old phone work with it but my new one not. Perhaps Sky need to get their finger out a bit quicker.
Still can use SMS though but it's a bit fiddley.

Ive been having the same problem on the website today, and also when i use the S60 application on my phone.. it cant connect to the server....
When it works, its genius, but i only seem to be able to rely on Remote Record when i use my phone, as when i "can" use the website (and im talking a few hours before the programme is meant to start) i come home to loads of failed messages. some even the next day

Hi guys!
I had Sky+ installed yesterday and I've just created a My Sky account and linked it to my Sky TV using the last 6 digits of my bank account number. I've now tried to activate the Remote Record so I can set recordings from the iPhone app. Anyway, when I click remote record I get the following error message...
"Unfortunately we have been unable to complete your activation because you need to have a Sky+ or Sky+HD box to use Remote Record."
Then a link to upgrade my box. Obviously, as I've mentioned, I DO have a Sky+ box. I'm unsure what to do! I've emailed Customer Services and I'm awaiting a response but thought I would ask on here too as you lot are generally a lot more helpful.

I've recently created and released an Android application for sending remote recordings to your Sky+ (HD) box from your phone. It uses your mobile Internet connection rather than sending text messages.
It's called Remote Recorder and I've created a trial version that allows 3 recordings to be sent from it.
The application is still under development, but there are people using it every day to set up recordings.

Tried this it still does not work get a message sorry try later, had sky for 4 months now still no good ring customer service all they we send me a signal wait 24 hours still not good
