The joke that is sky fiber pro 1mb, down, to 19mb up.

ok so i got sky fiber activated on the 20th last month. and in my excitement the first thing i do is run a speed test. and this is what shows, notice the date as this was run today.

so obv i rang them up, they said they dident know what was up and that it could be summat to do with a testing period of two weeks. now im pretty sure that 1mb is too slow for that. so i kept on the line and they said they would run tests and ring back

so i waited 2 days no calls. i ring back up and am asked to go thru the same tests, netstat, speedtest, connect thru ethernet. stuff id already done, they then escalate the case, this was repeated for about 30+ calls now.

now after nearly one month they send us a new router, still the problem goes on they decided to send a bt engineer out he tests everything and its all correct the speed is coming to the house right and even to the router.

so after one month, sky has failed to not only fix the problem, but even diagnose it, this is the worst service i have ever received. and a complete and utter joke. i work thru you tube and video gaming, i need to be able to get not laggy footage and this is impossible, luckily i have loyal subs.

if any of you can solve this i would be impressed, the speed tests have also been checked thru a number of devices, including the engineers own laptop.

Sounds stupid but where is the router sitting? I had a friend once that had a similar issue and it turned out it was because the router was sitting on his hall carpet

As soon as he put it on a table issues disappeared

Your router status page shows you are getting 79987 at the router.

Humour us please, plug in a cable and test your speed with ethernet. Make sure the wireless on the laptop is disabled so that the result is not skewed.

When you have done that change the router wireless channel to Channel 13 and again test your speed using wifi.
