      That may be the problem. DLM on ADSL is very good at reducing your speed if it finds errors, but very seldom brings the speed back up when the problem goes. DLM on fibre seems to work much better, increasing the speed when the line improves. I think what may be happening is that they set the line to G.DMT, then when they re-enable DLM, it switches it back to ADSL2+. At one time they could put a line on G.DMT and suspend DLM, but they may not be able to do that now.

      It depends on the level of system control is exposed to the C/S Agents, one would hope at least the higher level tech support agents get the capability to suspend DLM as we're not quite at the stage yet where the machine is able to take all the factors into account that people are.

      It is indeed possible if the C/S Team set a profile on the exchange equipment but didn't disable DLM then DLM could have profile switched again.

      I wonder if G.INP would help on this line, although I think it depends on what equipment Sky have in the exchange and if you have one of their newest routers as to if it can be enabled.

      Re: Sky Deliberately throttling ADSL to cull it?

      Sky have texted a contact number for the elevated problem dept, or whatever they call stage 2. However when I 'wrote' the number down the first time and later tried to call it - it didn't exist. I'd recorded the call and definitely had dialled correctly.

      I will try again, but I seriously believe this needs elevating to a more senior level.

      It may do, but unfortunately the poster has one of the worst routers Sky have issued, which is unlikely to support it.

      Please tell me a better one and I'll buy it, as I did this one 3 months ago? My alternative is probably now risking 150 on Satellite, signing for 12 months and ending up with as bad a service anyway. ISP's are perhaps not the most endurable of people in satisfying the largesse of their claims I'm learning.

      The trouble is you have to commit first usually for 12 months - then to find the reality is very differerent from the advertised claims!

      The last Sky 'expert' did say DLM would be running for 10 days etc etc by the way?

      Do you mean you don't have the Sagem 2304n as it says in your Profile?

      Re: Sky Deliberately throttling ADSL to cull it?

      Sorry no, I have now amended the details,

      I have as above;

      F@ST2504n
      Firmware Version 6.14.6a4N_UNI
      ADSL Firmware Version A2pD038m.d24h

      I replaced it myself in May this year.
