      Very unhappy with Sky connect.

Right will be ringing sky soon to try and get a mac code.

Been with sky since last feb but I moved house 6 months into the contract.
The old house was LLU but moved out into the country. so just went for the Sky connect package. Was not informed about signing into a new contract or anything like that they just said they would have to change the max package to connect.

Well gaming is a nightmare and even surfing in the evening is awful.
Only getting 800kb to 1,1mb at times. I know when Tiscali was in this house the speed was around 1.7mb and stable.

If I manage to get a mac code does anyone know a good isp to go to? The exchange is not LLU for any isp

Plusnet & Zen are 2 that get good reviews so I'd look at them

Plusnet's traffic shaping is almost as bad as connect if you do anything other than web browsing.

They have a pro package which is not traffic managed, but the usage allowance is even less than Connect.

Zen are very good, but it's business broadband so you pay a tad more.

I believe you can opt for no contract on both.

Re: Very unhappy with Sky connect.

The exchange is FTTC enabled. If you have an FTTC cabinet close to where you are, then there are a number of ISPs already reselling this product.

As your exchange is classified by Ofcom as 'Market 1', it won't be getting any LLU equipment in the near future.

Sky have yet to announce what they are doing, other than running trials.

Re: Very unhappy with Sky connect.

Hey guys just checked that fttc with

      Eclipse Internet
      Broadband speed: 7.2Mbps read more
      Upload speed: 2Mbps
Broadband SpeedXYour broadband speed is estimated. It may vary and is dependent on a number of factors, such as the quality of your phone line, computer and time of access.
Now it's 45 quid a month but how good an estimate would that be?

      Edit...

Just checked Bt website and they said I can only get BT Total Broadband :/

Call Eclipse to see if it is actually FTTC that they can offer, as I think you'll find it was ADSL they quoted for. They may also be in a better position to advise of a date when you nearest cabinet will be upgraded to FTTC if it is not already available.

As for BT, anyone got a hole to put them in? Preferably a very very deep hole on Saturn.

If you do change, get a MAC codes from Sky as cancelling will not assure you of a smooth transition.
