"Loyalty discount" dropped - bye bye Sky !
When I complained about the £5 increase on Sky Unlimited last year, they gave me a £5 "loyalty discount" because I'm on the top Sky TV package. When I checked my statement today, this had been droppped.
£10 a month for Sky is a good deal - £15 a month isn't, in my opinion, so I've asked for my MAC, and I'll be off to Be*
If you've been getting this discount, watch your statements !

The loyalty discount only covered you to January 2010 - That's why a lot of us changed to o2 in December. Our loyalty ran out as well.

Be / o2 are the same, plus you can get 2 free months and up to £100 cashback.

be /o2 not in my exchange so its either £15 for unlimited sky or £10 with sky talk freetime but not sky line rental

Re: "Loyalty discount" dropped - bye bye Sky !
Sky LLU is one of the better services, but Be is technically better, so is therefore better value. If Sky gave me a static IP, allowed me to set my own noise margins and switch between ADSL2+ and g.dmt easily, I would not be moving. Sadly Sky BB Tech Support has gone way downhill in the last year or so.

if you wanted to switch from ADSL2+ with g.dmt or vice versa then tech support can do this for you easily, once theyve changed it to the line code of your choice then surely it doesnt matter how easy it is to change between the two? no need to keep changing it
as for a static ip address thats not something sky can/ever have offered as its a dynamic service, good look with BE anyway, heard good things

Well, 12 months ago I would have agreed with you about the "easily" bit, but not now. FYI, when my line was first upgraded to ADSL2+ in September last year, my line speed went from 5Mbps down to 3Mbps, and I emailed Sky Tech Services and within 24 hours they had switched me back to g.dmt, and in the email they said that if I had any more problems I could email them.
In the last 6 months BT have done a lot of work down here, which has resulted in much better speeds, and I'd like to try ADSL2+ again, but then may have to switch it back. So, I emailed Tech Support again, only to be told that the system had changed, and that I had to use the feedback form or call them on an 0845 number. I have Be on my business line, and I can change any of the settings (interleave, noise margins, etc) from a control panel.

No such thing as a "dynamic service" - Sky could give static IP's if they wanted - they have simply chosen not to.

cant fault that, sounds very user friendly can you just go in on your home pc and manually adjust your line code then??

fair enough.. probably would be a good idea for them to bring out optional static ip addresses, at least as an option that you can pay extra for like BE. dont think they will do this as BE market static IP's mainly for business use and sky have always tried to discourage users from signing up to sky bb and using it for business.
