Angry Sky is killing me. Please I'm begging. Someone help... please.

Very long story short - I moved from a flat where I had Sky to another flat. I wanted to bring Sky with me - well had no choice since I was under contract still. I moved. Satellite TV part moved over fine. Broadband however is a living nightmare. They cant figure out how to get it moved over. Back end technical glitch is preventing it from being canceled at the old address and therefore they cant start it at the new place. Its been two months now and they continue to charge me. I call twice a week for an update and nobody has one. I cant actually speak to anyone about it. The department that would apparently deal with this doesn't do calls. They can only be told to call me via an internal email system. This internal email is sent every time I call but I have never received a single call or an update regarding anything. Essentially nothing is being done. They say I have to be charged every month because I am under contract and there is nothing I can do. I cant speak to anyone. I cant cancel. What in God's name do I do??????

remove your account number/telephone number

then, have you said that you have moved, and your new telephone number is xxx at xxx? if not then do that, anyway try sending an e-mail to jeremy darroch via
jeremy.darroch [at] bskyb.com or jeremy.darroch [at] sky.com

complain to him, if your lucky his assistant will reply to you and help you.

also thats not your account number, your account number is longer and shown in mysky

Admin: Made his email spambot proof replace the [at] with @ and no spaces.

Do you know if you are on the New Sky SVBN network? If you are, then that explains why you cant move. It takes 3 months to move home if your on SVBN due to the nature of the system.

New system coming in soon, but it seems that your trapped in the old system possibly. They shouldn't be charging you for the service though, as its their fault not yours.

Re: Sky is killing me. Please I'm begging. Someone help... please.

A contract is a two way thing.

You have an obligation to make the payments for the contracted period. Sky have an obligation to provide the service for the contracted period.

In failing to provide broadband for such a long period of time, Sky are in breach of contract and therefore, you could tear it up.

I suspect you don't want to do that but at the very least they must not charge you for a service that they are unable to deliver.

My advice would be to call customer services and demand that broadband charges are refunded and no more made until the service is provided.

If they aren't helpful then go through to the cancellation department - you should end up speaking to someone who is prepared to see reason.

If all else fails cancel the direct debit and let them chase you for the money. You are then in control of what you pay. And if they really really want to take you to court then they will have to admit that they charged you for services they did not provide and refused to refund them when asked - they would be kicked out at that point.

Cheers,

Nigel
