Two months without BB and counting...!

My parents have transferred to Sky BB and, aside from having their number changed against their wishes, have now been without broadband for ten weeks so far!

I've never heard such a sorry set of excuses -- it seems they've settled on blaming their "system" for their repeated failures. Nonetheless, even with only a carrier pigeon they still ought to be able to sort things out faster than this.

I'd advise anyone considering Sky BB to keep on top of their order and make a note of every communication with Sky.

Did they also take out Sky phone rental or were they moving from another LLU provider like TalkTalk? It should not do,but moving from one LLU provider to another, nearly always causes problems. The best advice is to get the phone sorted out before you even mention broadband. Too late in the case of your parents.

I wouldn't have stood for two weeks without a service let alone 2 months. Get your parents to give Sky an ultimatum, either supply them with Broadband within 72 hours or at least give them an activation date they can keep to or your parents will find Sky in breach of contract and will move to another provider.
