ok slow sky after 6pm for most people.....

Right ive had Sky broadband for about 3 months and not 1 problem untill about a week ago when at excactly 6pm my internet goes down to about 200K/bs.

right ive read over 200 diffrent posts on these forums containing the same information, with people posting tips that dont work.

right, ive just been on the phone with SKY for the past 40 minutes, they ran diagnositics on my line and exchange they found no problem.

They told me its because a certain amount of people connect between the times i told them, i happily informed him that for the past 2-3 months my connection has been perfect untill now, and he said "Maybe alot of people have got sky broadband in your area in the past week or so" i said to him "for the past 4 years i was with BT and have never had anything like this problem before"

and he just kept telling me the same thing over and over, and me getting mad at it abruptly told him i will be changing ISP in the next week because of how many people have got this problem from SKY without them finding a good fix for it, hell there meant to be a huge company with alot of money but it dont seem like there customer support is very good really.

anyone having this problem im suggesting moving to another ISP because this is a extremly stupid problem and untill its sorted i suggest people stick with there more trust worthy provider.

Posting your router stats (high level and detailed) is needed for us to help.

Assuming that you have,
(1) Checked your internal wiring, filters, and checked your line stats at the test socket, and they are o.k?

Then as you are on connect, which is a BT product with a download limit of 40GB per month, I suspect you have gone over/come close to this and you are being capped.

This is a guess, so post your stats for more help.

Right as you have read lots of posts, I assume that this is not a wireless problem and that you have tried cable between you router and computer and this also gives a download of 200Kb after 6pm?

With a sync speed of 7360, this will give an IP profile (Connect is a bt product) of 6Mb/s, your download should be around 80% of that. What is it like at other times of the day?

Between midnight and 6pm it is a stable 6200k, as soon as it hits 6pm it goes to the grand total of 100-200k.

ive never used wireless on any of my computers only my laptop, and my laptop cant even connect to the internet using wireless lol

How much of the connection have you used.
