Re: Help. Connection keeps dropping

no, it's a rebranded BT Wholesale service...

with an attenuation of 25 you should really be seeing the full 8Mbps - are you running through an extention? do you have all sockets in use filtered correctly?

Re: Help. Connection keeps dropping

yes there are 3 extensions. all filtered. changed the filters around. i do wonder whether the extensions are the problem but have unplugged everything except router and it still drops regularly.

Re: Help. Connection keeps dropping

Does your first socket have a groove going left to right above the mounting screws? If so there is a hidden socket you can plug into. This will isolate the socket from everything including extensions and prove if there is a fault on the extension wiring itself.

Re: Help. Connection keeps dropping

just to check, are you wired or wireless ?

on the connect package they use SRA, so if you have a bad line (or bad internal wiring) it should retrain at a lower speed to give you a more stable connection ?

Re: Help. Connection keeps dropping

i do have a msater socket (well it looks like one!!) but when i remove teh faceplate the other extensions are still live? I think my builder when doing extension may have mucked around with the lines (although this was 2 yrs ago!!
