AND STILL NO CALL BACK FROM SKY!!
Thing is, as far as Sky BB is concerned, everything seems to have sorted itself out for me (touch wood) - after 3 weeks of tearing my hair out.

What really gets to me is that people have been insinuationg that my problems with Sky BB have been down to me - my PC, software, hardware, whatever. Now things have stabalized and have been proven to NOT be anything to do with me, do I get an apology? Yeah right !!!

Sky have proved to be somewhat untruthfull with more than 1 person and on more than 1 occasion. I was one of the early adopters of Sky BB and such my issues were percieved as somewhat unique, but as time passes more and more people are reporting very similar issues as I had. I wish I could help them - all I can do is say either cancel your contract or hang in there.

Well i think im on. tier 3 just fones and said we capped you at 128kbps to try and find the errors. they just flicked me on and said my line is showing 15.9 mbps now

it is faster a lot faster but despite rebooting everything i still seem in the 100s i will see how it goes for a day or two

Right heres the crux..

12 pm\last night tier three phone...

we capped you at 128 kbps to try and get it running. on phone they reset it and BOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

instantly got 4.8 mps on wireless laptop so now just have to tweek all the settings. and i will be looking around this site

This is why its infuriating!! sky had screwed my line said they would call me back then TWO days later they fix it in seconds!!

I will be talking compensation with their ops manager the customer service is awful and it was clearly their fault.

At least i have a faster connection. I have desktop and wireless laptop up and running now. and been tolld i should get 15.9 in reality i will be delighted with 10.

PS for all thise that cant log in to msn /banks/ ebay i have a fix and i sussed it myself...

I deleted Norton to put the bundled mcafee on, but norton always leaves a few files on, then when you put mcafee on they conflict and you get administration errors, log in etc. to fix it do a system restore, which wil delete mcafee and re install norton, THEN you can log in at hotmail. THEN go to google and follow one of the tutorials to completely remove norton then install mcafee and booooooooom away you go and all the sites should then work fine., I told this to sky who said they would be telling all people phoning uo this fix instead of "we are aware of ongoing authentication issues"

So finally i have a connection of nearly 5mbps on wireless and im about 30 metres from sky box on laptop im sure i can tweak it more and get more speed. (im already using test socket)

matt.d.

x BT - Really glad to hear hat you are up and running - maybe a sign of light at the end of the tunnel.

Bearing that in min I am somewhat thinkin that I will sit tight until 6th October and hope that a) they have had divine inspiration and have sorted their customer service issues by then and b) that when it is installed that it then works correctly.

Or does anyone thin I'm fooling myself and I should try toget away as soon as possible?

Smile

Can we change the heading now to something like 'Sky rocks' !!!!

My daughter had Sky installed. It was quick to enable after MAC issued and installed first time without any probs.

Maybe she was lucky but has a much faster access with no additional cost on her Sky TV and is VERY happy.

Time for my move ;-)
