My speeds were fine straight away. Although improved further improved by the test socket connection.

If you look at your stats you can see if it is the sync that is the problem or something else.

Connection Speed 133 kbps 133 kbps
Line Attenuation 17.0 db 12.5 db
Noise Margin 33.3 db 36.0 db

we seem to have a problem. But as its only been active for an hour i would hope they are working on it.

Master Socket mate.

Ive been on BT bb for 3 years and alwys got the max 2mbps and 240 upload, so theres no probs this end. Just seems a bit funny that after they never activated me im getting 133 lol.

I have been using dial up for a few days so dont know if orange changed any settings, but wont be that as im getting same speed on desktop and by wireless on laptop.

still getting 133kbps

woah its getting slower, dont mean to be a bit nooby here, but have you tried reseting the broadband box, small hole at back next to power shove a pen in wait till the tick on the front to light up then off and let go.

if you have just ignore that..

It gets worse. having been on TWELVE KILOBYTES per second for hours i phone sky and get through to another operations manager and tell him the story, he says i will escalate to tier three it will be upto 48 hours before they call you.

i said... if you read my notes... he cut me off and said i dont need to read your notes im telling you it will take 48 hours..

What a crock of brown stuff!!

His name is Colin Payne and he is useless... Thanks sky you will be getting this lot back smashed to pieces in a box without postage paid.

Shocking. That im already in contact with operations managers and tier 3 and he basically said that doesnt matter. What a clown.

I am incredibly hacked off here. Ive changed filters, rebooted box and pc unplugged cables, replaced and still get dial up speeds and they have conforsmed the maximum ive had is 133 ... when im supposed to be getting over 15 megabytes.

I really dont know what to do next, im stunned and in despair.

Would you like me to run you through the suggestions dotted around the site? I ask because I am sure you have read them all and I am not sure if you have tried them, or indeed if you even care to at this point but I thought I would offer.
Really sorry that you are having this sucky experience.
