Its amazing what an email address can do..

Not sure if I should post this is Sky happiness or unhappiness... as its a bit of both.

I have been an active member of the Consumer Action Group for a little while. Although I am connected and very happy with my connection, I have had ongoing issues with a replacement router, and if I am honest it was just becoming more and more laughable by the minute how I was being treated as a customer. But I am realistic, its cheap, the service is relatively new..and I always give praise when its due.. and there are a few things Sky DID get right..

Anyway to cut a long story short, I decided to send an email to Mr Murdoch highlighting my issues BUT i decided to use both my @consumeractiongroup.co.uk address & my sky.com address to relay my concerns. Duplicating the exact same email..

Now this is strange - I received a kinda respectful email back apologising for the delay and my problems and assuring me it will be dealt with very soon to my @Sky.com address...thank you Sky!!

    However.....

Amazingly...the reply to my @consumeractiongroup email was a diffirent tone completely. Promising immediate action and a call from the customer relations office.
And sure enough, I recieved a call the next DAY... from a very nice chap, offering me a full refund of ALL technical support call charges (3.5 hours worth!!) and an assurance that my router will be with me within 3 days (they are going to call to confirm its arrival!!) (I have waited 14 days....) AND my first month broadband will be free and I got an apology for the all inconvenience caused!!

Well hey, thank you Sky or shall I say Mr Murdoch. It seems its quite amazing what an email address can achieve... well a none sky.com one anyway....

    Problem resolved!

Re: Its amazing what an email address can do..

Hey no problems... personally I would advise anyone who perhaps is having very difficult, long running issues with Sky to do this.

And btw, I ain't promoting this website, its emails etc.. but I paid £6 for that email address and on that one email alone.... it saved me lots of extra stress.

The guy who called me back has dealt with everything and taken personal ownership of the issue, so in my book... well worth it!!

The Consumer Action Group website is a very good one for issues you may have with Suppliers, especially your Bank.

How can I send an e-mail to Mr Murdoch? I don't want to pay for an e-mail address but it's worth sending one from my Sky or Hotmail address.

CAG offered me a free email address a while back. I think it's time I took them up on it.
