Arrow. Why are uncut HD episodes only available on demand?

Noticed this on Killjoys as well. It was transmitted before nine and bits of it were obviously cut. That was sort of OK as there was a later uncut showing, also on HD. However Arrow only appears to be on HD pre nine so is always cut. Yes i can use catch up but with the number of repeats and catch up not having series links its a pain.

It depends on what was cut for a start. Many TV broadcasters not only cut material from their content all the time.

Not only do they cut it to meet restrictions on the time of day, but also to fit a programme or film into a given time slot. They have various techniques too. Not only ca they literally remove a piece, but they can also speed or or slow down the item to help with any timing issues which remain.

These techniques have been used for many years.

I guess the good thing now is that they can also provide the content via the CUTV or OD sections. This means that they can ramp it up to the original content, but occasionally they might cut a scene which was deemed unsuitable after the origininal broadcast.

Good that you can get it OD, but a pain that you can't series link OD.

      hehehee....

      You can now!!!!

If you don't already have R015 installed, do so this week.

If you then watch last week's episode, this week's will automatically be downloaded as you are watching last week's.

This is a new feature on R015.

Alternatively, watch this week's episode on the repeat showing and 5 minutes after it started. Why? Another new feature available with R015. Your STB will offer you the opportunity to 'Watch from the start' and that will cause the CUTV content to be downloaded.

Just a word of warning though: If you finish watching this week's episode in the first example, then you won't be able to trigger the next episode to be automatically downloaded. Also there is talk that there is a major link up between Arrow, Super Girl and Flash in the current run. I'm not sure which episodes, but I'm purposefully keeping up with them and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
