      Hello laurajinx.
      Welcome to skyuser.

Basically, the extra 5 per month for the family bundle gives you access to all the high definition versions of the channels included in the variety bundle.
Of course, subscribers to the variety bundle will already have access to the BBC channels in HD + ITV1 HD & channel 4 HD, so the family bundle gives access to all the others.

It doesn't affect any sports or movies subscriptions you may have though.
If you do subscribe to sports or movies & want the HD versions of those, there is a separate HD pack available which provides that.

That's great thanks for the quick reply.

I read somewhere that the family also gives you access to the box sets in demand. Is that correct or is that no longer the case?

      Thanks again
      Laura

      Yes, you are absolutely correct.

Content in the 'catch-up' section of on demand is available with any subscription.
Content in the 'boxsets' section of on demand is only available with a family bundle subscription.

Sorry, i should have stated that.
(note to self - don't attempt to cook dinner & browse forum at the same time).

You really should tell customers or other forum members asking about Family that it has a 12 month minimum term (so will re-contract them to Sky and the Family pack from the upgrade date for 12 months) unless they are downgrading to it from the old 10.25 HD pack.

Re: Difference between Variety and Family

No that's fine, I knew about the 12 month contract part as that's on the Sky website but it doesn't say anything about whether there is a difference in the channels so that's all I was after and gymno was a great help.
      Thanks again.
