And they'd never take it away part way through the season, surely?

That would be a PR disaster.

      Expect no less from Sky.

My personal feeling is that they will cancel the F1 channel for HD subscribers on Thursday right before any Monza programming.

Looks like it's back to Auntie Beeb for highlights.

I wont pay Sky 600 a year for F1 even if I get footballism for free with it.

Its on the Beeb, so I have set it to record the Qualifying and Race there, just in case, practise can be boring so I don't mind missing that.

Just noticed they also have the qualifying too, but as I said it can be boring.

Re: Sky to withdraw F1 channel from old HD pack

This is the last tweet from the sky help team on the subject:

@f1broadcasting I agree the information we have had for this has not been the best and I apologise for any inconvenience & confusion this has caused I hadn't heard about the change but because it was sent in a reply email to a customer I assumed (my bad) that it would be correct. After further research on my part I can find no details on this and double checked with the Sky F1 Twitter team and they haven't heard this either. We usually get a heads up because of the volume of customers we interact with on a daily basis and no one here has seen or heard about this. The definitive answer I have is there are no plans to remove the Sky Sports F1 channel from the HD pack. Thanks, Barry.

Re: Sky to withdraw F1 channel from old HD pack

It would have been a bit cheeky given that the Staff IAF offer in April was the "Pit-pass" giveaway where they could give a family member EE and old HD pack free for a year to watch the F1 season for free.

Shows the danger of having a bunch of muppets on twitter.

Re: Sky to withdraw F1 channel from old HD pack

I guess this thread should really be in the rumour section now...

Especially as i just came across a very interesting post in the thread that Reddwarfcrew linked to earlier here:
Sky Help Forum - Re: Why did Sky lie to me about not losing any cha... - Page 2 - Help & Support from the Official Sky Forum

It points out that information relating to F1 is on the sky shop 'extra channels' page here:
Extra channels on Sky - Sky Sports F1, MUTV, Chelsea TV and MGM HD

      Strange.

Re: Sky to withdraw F1 channel from old HD pack

When (if) they remove F1 from the HD pack, then I'm cancelling the lot.

I've got no interest at all in 99% of the content on the other sports channels and in the process financing overpaid footballists who exhibit appalling behaviour by subscribing to the Sports pack.

Sky certainly know how to create confusion don't they!! Every TV package change they seem to make now just ends up in total and utter confusion

I really do think it's about time Sky went back to basics as it's getting silly now and far too complicated.
