Re: Charge for ceasing a telephone line?

Provided that you are out of contract there are no early termination charges.
You may be asked to pay for the service for 31 days from the date that you call to cancel but as you pay for your services a month in advance you will probably have already paid this unless you make calls that are not included in your service plan.

Do you really want to cease your line or are you looking to switch provider? If the latter it may work out cheaper to contact you new provider and ask them to arrange for your line (and telephone number if appropriate) to be transferred that way you should avoid having to pay for provision of a new line.

This won't apply if changing to Virgin Media or any other cable service provider where you should wait until you have confirmation of the start date for your new service to avoid a break in service or the loss of an existing directory number.
