Re: Sky line rental increase
BT Line Rental is going up to £15.45 on 5/1/2013 and according to their website, Line Rental Saver – £129 for 12 months in advance by debit/credit card – (equivalent to £10.75 a month). You'll need to pay any additional call charges by Direct Debit and switch to e-billing for this service.

Re: Sky line rental increase
So it would seem that Sky will still be cheaper than BT according to those prices.

Re: Sky line rental increase
Received my letter this morning so I gave them a call as I am on a returning customer deal until March and basically don't pay line rental (£12.25 get's charged followed by a £12.25 credit).
Asked what would happen with my deal and she confirmed that I would be charged the new price from the 1st December but my credit would automatically also increase, so I should see a charge of £14.50 followed by a credit of the same amount until the deal ends. Quite happy with that and will look at Line Rental Saver in March.
Slightly off topic, as I am on Fibre, do I still have to have Sky Line Rental? Just seen a cracking prepay deal with Primus, £150 a year for line rental and all landline calls you see that is quite tempting!

Re: Sky line rental increase
But what annoys me(and this is the last post from me on this subject) is if i did pay in advance it would still be on my line rental because this is my argument it is nothing to do with my phone or broadband if there's`s a fault with my line i give sky protect a call and they come out i just wish sky would come clean about what they are doing with the money.

Re: Sky line rental increase
We were considering leaving and jumping to another provider ; but the broadband service seems to have improved recently, and the TV side of things are a massive plus for us, so we're staying put

Re: Sky line rental increase
Just this very afternoon changed to Sky Talk Upfront line rental , what a carry on ! Read on the Sky help forum that a lot of people have had bother . Rang the normal customer service number (it was given as the number to contact) and they denied it was available , said it stopped 1st September . Went back to the help forum and one of the advisers said hit the "contact us" button , that took me through to an on line adviser who said yes it was still available and to ring billing (08442 414141) and they sorted it out !!! Though the person on there said up to a week ago they didn't know it was still available !
Seems like they're trying to keep it quiet......

Re: Sky line rental increase
I asked an online adviser and they said it was available and to call 08442 41 41 41 which seems to be consistent with the above post.
I'll probably call tomorrow as it's a bit late now.
edit:
Called Sky and got through to someone pretty much straight away and should now be sorted. They said the monthly bill will still show a charge for the line rental but then a credit to cancel it outLast edited by dragon2611; 08-11-12 at 01:54 PM.
