just ordered SKY+HD want talk and broadband but with tiscali

just ordered SKY HD, wanted to order sky talk but hesitated because the CS didn't quite know what to do with the telephone side.

Does anyone know what the correct procedure is for migrating from Tiscali to SKY Talk and ultimatley broadband.

I currently get Tiscali talk and broadband via Metallic Pathway Facility LLU (what tiscali have said), but want to switch SKY talk and broadband.

Sky say I have to disconnect my phone and broadband and then take out a new connection with them. I will loose my telephone number. But that was one CS in SKYHD sales who was not sure.

Tiscali think that as I am on a Metallic Pathway Facility, sky can just takeover the services.

I have read mixed reviews about this. I don't fancy going back to BT then paying them a fee to go over to sky.

Any help will be valuable!

Metallic Pathway Facility (MPF) is simply the wires that go from the exchange to your house. If Tiscali say that it is MPF this means that they have taken over the line to supply broadband and phone. If they were supplying broadband only and were renting the voice line from BT it would be referred to as Shared MPF. I may be wrong but I think you will have to return your line to BT before any ISP can supply broadband or voice service on it.

Hi as Tiscali web site is no more and Tiscali does not exist so everything is tranfered to Talktalk I think that means that Talktalk have taken over your telephone line I think it could be a good idea to find out. The link R.I.P. Tiscali RIP Tiscali
