      Re: virgin media to sky

I looked at doing this for someone over Christmas myself.

CS will be able to confirm whether she can keep the telephone number when you go through the process of placing an order for Sky.

The main concern is whether or not Sky has their own equipment in the local exchange where you Mother-in-Law lives.

If they do, then she will get a very good package.

If they don't then she'll be sold Sky Connect for the BB. If you look at other threads on this forum, you will soon see that Sky Connect is not a good product.

As for line rental, taking Sky Talk will ensure that it is Sky who is paid, not BT.

We didn't go ahead because of the cost at the time. Sky Connect was going to bump up the basic price higher that Virgin's basic price. Sky should be moving into the relative exchange later this year, so we're keeping an eye on the situation. It turned out to be a very wise choice knowing what I do now about Sky Connect.

Take a look on SamKnows to see if her exchange is unbundled and if Sky has an LLU there. According to Samknows, your exchange (Potters Bar) does have a Sky presence.
