      ESPN TV Schedule

Has anyone else tried the new ESPN TV Schedule web page?

I have to tried to use it to see a list of all the live Ice Hockey games to be broadcast, but this is near impossible to do.

Go to the page and it shows the main ESPN channel and All Sports, with buttons to jump to Now or Today. Programmes are shown for the period starting 14 October (!!! - today is the 16th). The display can be scrolled as far as 27 October. So far so good.

Now click on All Channels (to see ESPN America as well as the main ESPN channel) and the display reverts to Today only (with option to jump to Now or This Week). Why? And why is Today the 14th (two days ago)? Click on This Week and the schedule display clears completely. It is not possible to select the Sport.

Click on All Channels, and the display returns. Yes, you guessed correctly: it now shows one day only for two days ago. Now select Ice Hockey. OK, that works, although the space allowed is a bit too small and for some games there is not enough space to show the names of both teams. Since it has been changed from This Week to Today even though this was not requested, click the button to move on to the next day, and the display automatically reverts to All Sports. Why would any user ever want it to behave in this way? I could go on...

I have never before used a web page that is so bug-ridden and works so badly, and the really slow response does not help.

I reported this to ESPN via the feedback form (also poor - no suitable category and a 256 character limit on the message) on the ESPN website, but have received no reply. Presumably any manager happy with such a poor implementation on his website wouldn't care anyway.

Last season it was possible to download a PDF file of the Ice Hockey schedule - very simple, very easy, it just worked. By contrast this season's schedule may look pretty, but is absolutely useless.

Ah well, I suppose it's my fault for wanting to watch the programmes I have paid for...

You are right as I get the same thing happening to me. Personally I don't like sites that operate that scrolling feature anyway.

You could always try this site, they do make the odd error and miss the odd program here and there but apart from that it is pretty good:

Live Sport on TV - Sport on Television - Sport on TV - golf, football, cricket, rugby...
