No Satellite Signal or Telephone Connection Found??? HELP For about the past 5 days our Sky has stopped working. Admittedly we have had a huge amount of snow but the dish worked fine through 3 days of hard snowfall. But still it comes up with "No Telephone Connection" and also "No Satellite Signal". We have tried pretty much everything and there is no ice on the dish at all. Also the phone and broadband is working fine. We spent an hour talking to 4 different people and every time the phone dropped out (no fault of our own we tried 3 phones off the landline). Everything they told us was completely different and didn't work. The final person told us to wait for the snow to clear an see if it worked them. To be honest this is useless customer service and they didnt even offer to send an engineer out!
Any idea what the cause of the problem is? It would be far quicker to sort this out myself rather than wait for Sky to get there act together.

Re: No Satellite Signal or Telephone Connection Found??? HELP
Try a full reboot at the mains first.
If still unsuccessful, go into the Installer Setp ( on the Sky remote, press Services, 4, 0, 1 & then press 'Select' to reveal the menu ). Reset the LNB & then reset the Default Transponder. If necessary after doing the two resets, in the LNB Setup sub menu, switch OFF the LNB Power Supply and 22KHz Command, save the settings and exit the menu. Then, back into the menu, switch them both ON again, save the settings and exit the menu.
Tuner failure is quite common on some models, so you could try someone else's box on your setup ( or vice versa ) to eliminate the dish/LNB/cable as the source of the problem.
What is the Error Code on the 'No Satellite Signal' messages?Panasonic TX-P50G10B, Onkyo HTS 3305

Re: No Satellite Signal or Telephone Connection Found??? HELP
I recently had no satelite signal on one feed and found it was a cable problem at a wall socket although not all installations have wall sockets if yours does it is worth checking the connections in the wall socket. I think the very cold weather caused my problem and perhaps it wasn't very well installed to begin with.
I've also had NSS at a previous home and that was caused by water getting into the cable at the dish end. Cable problems are often the easiest to solve yourself and the slightest short circuit can affect the picture so it is worth checking cables frequently.
