1 Strong & 1 Weak Signal Sky+
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice. We have Sky+ in our house and are using the dish and quad LNB that was already fitted when we moved in. However, feed 1 has a strong signal, whereas feed 2 has a weak signal. Could this be due to dish alignement, LNB alignment or would it be worth trying one of the other connections on the LNB (as one feed is from connector 1 and the other feed is from connector 4 on the LNB). Feed 2 is so weak that we constantly loose sound on most channels using that feed. Any advice would be very appreciated.
Many thanks
Ian

Re: 1 Strong & 1 Weak Signal Sky+
No harm in trying another port on the LNB, although I don't suppose you know how old the whole setup is ( dish/LNB/cabling ). A small fault somewhere, slight corrosion, cable loose/frayed, water ingress, bad F-connectors etc etc will all lead to poor performance. Can be very difficult and time-consuming to pinpoint. Start with another port on the LNB and take it from there.

I'd swop the two feeds at the box end and see if the weak signal stays with the same feed, then look at swopping feeds on the LNB.
There is no p in Thomson.

Re: 1 Strong & 1 Weak Signal Sky+
Thanks for both of your replies. I think I will change the feeds over on the box to check it isn't a fault there and then swap over on the LNB. If no better, I will then change the LNB (I have a new one somewhere). If still no better, I will then check the cables by swapping them over. Once again, many thanks.
