Will Sky Remote work with JVC LT19DK1BJ TV/DVD Combo

Hi, I'm considering buying a JVC LT-19K1BJ TV/DVD combo and need to know if the sky remote will function correctly with this particular model. I have been caught out before whereby the standard codes for a particular manufacturer do not work, particulary for TV/DVD combos.

Any advice will be very much appreciated.

What I'm really looking for is confirmation that this TV will definitely work with the Sky remote, ideally from somebody who already has the same model. I haven't bought the TV yet, and won't if there is a problem with Sky remote code. I have been caught out before and ended up juggling two remotes and don't want to be caught out again.

Alternatively if somebody could recommend a decent 19" TV/DVD combo that works with Sky remote then I would consider it seriously.

What you could do is have a look at your Sky remote where you place the batteries there is a sticker on the inside which has rev then a number on it the latest is rev 8 you can go to JVC home page and see if the Sky rev is compatible or ask the shop where you are looking to buy combo same on line see if it is compatible.

I have explored the JVC web site and could not gleen anything useful, I even downloaded the manual etc. could not even find a link whereby I could email them, something I find very frustrating but quite common these days. I was going to buy from Comet but could not connect with their on-line chat, to busy please try later scenario, that's why I posted on here. It's all quite frustrating, all I want to do is spend dosh on a good quality TV/DVD combo and have some reassurance that it's going to work with my Sky remote, I hate juggling with a fist full of remotes.

I know what you mean I have a rev 6 and no match for TV and DVD have you had a look to see what rev you have once you know any shop will be able to check or test the new combo as long as you have not got rev 6

Hi and thanks once again for your post.

I have just checked my remote and it's rev 6.Is there something different about rev 6, can the firmware revision be changed or is it a case buying a new one? Then again not the most expensive bit of kit going particularly when compared to £250 for the combo!

How does a shop check or test for compatibility?

Your help is much appreciated, I just don't want to buy a combo that I need a fistful of remotes to operate

Hi rev 6 is older than rev 8 therefor only works with older TV`s I was told it won't have the software to control the Tv. So at the moment rev 8 seems is the latest
you can get the remote from several places many Electrical shop sell them

When you ask for a combo say that it must be compatible with Sky+ rev 8 you could try first asking if they have any combo`s compatible with Sky+ rev 6
All electrical shops know about the Sky remote controls

Well I received a reply from Comet and it's not very helpful and basically puts the ball back in Sky's court Where do I go next? I have explored the JVC website and like most manufacturers it's basically impossible to contact them direct with a customer service type email. I can advise that Sky codes can be accessed on any Sky Digital receiver by pressing the red interactive button and then going to "Sky Technical".

If the codes listed do not work in conjunction with your television then it may be an unsupported model at this time, however, Sky regularly update their database of codes for all makes and models of television. As the codes are not administered by Comet, I am however unable to advise if the JVC 19DK1BJ is compatible, therefore I would respectfully request that you please contact Sky directly for further assistance.
