Question Minimum Sky+ Package

Does anyone know what the basic requirements are to keep Sky+ functionality,

I currently have SkyHD (which i bought myself at launch), Sky plus Sports, plus HD charge and a subsidied Sky broadband (at £5) all works out a bout £55+ a month.

What i want to do is go down the motorised sat setup but cut back on the sky package as much as i can without losing Sky+ not so bothered about paying for HD anymore either.

Its just getting too expensive what with Setanta showing England matches on top of Sky Sports etc, i need to throw some figures at the wife to get the nod

Re: Minimum Sky+ Package

To get Sky+ functionality for free you need to have a TV subscription, the cheapest of which is £17

Re: Minimum Sky+ Package

I've got the same issue. I want to replace the Sky+ upstairs with a HD box, at £105 fitted its a no brainer.

Re: Minimum Sky+ Package

The cheapest package to retain Sky+ functionality is NO package at £10 a month. If they refuse to give you this, subscribe to the minimum package then cancel it during the "cooling off" period and say that you just want to keep the recording functionality at £10 a month.

(As you already subscribe, just ring up to cancel but make it clear that you want to pay just the £10 a month. They will, of course, pass you to Cancellations who will try to make you an offer you can't refuse - and you won't refuse, so you'll end up paying more. To avoid this, do the cancellation by letter.)

Re: Minimum Sky+ Package

Good point Sam. Didn't think of that option.
