How to cure channel pixelation problems

If you are having channel pixelation problems then 9 times out of 10 an LNB reset or a connection check will sort this out. To do an LNB Reset:

Press Services, then Press Number 4 On your remote this will take you system setup once you are in this menu, ignor what it says on screen and press 0, 1 then select this should take you to installer setup, goto LNB Setup.

Once in LNB setup move down to LNB power supply and using the right arrow key change it to OFF, then goto the option below which is 22Khz Command change this to OFF also, then move down to SAVE NEW SETTINGS, once you have done this press the SKY button on your remote, then press Services, go back to the installer setup by going to Option 4, 0, 1 then select.

Go back to the LNB Setup and press the Red Button on the remote, then goto save new settings, then press select again to confirm these have went back to on whilst on there ensure that Low Band is 9.75 and high Band is 10.60 press the sky button, it takes around 60 seconds for a picture to appear if this doesnt resolve the problem then do a connection check.

Put box onto stand by, go to back of the box and ensure that everything is connected up properly, then unplug the box from the mains, ensure that all the lights on the front of the box are off, then plug box back in a reb light will come on, on the front of the box, once this has came on l;eave your box for 30seconds, then press the TV button then the SKY button on your remote, this should take you to the sky welcome channel (999) now try the channels that you werent getting before and see if that works, if its still not working then its probably the LNB.

Hopefully this information helps you, any more probs give is a shout and i will try and help.

exactly. nothing does happen on 0 as it is a secret menu.

Press Services 4 0 1 select and dont look at the screen until you hit select.

The LNB problem only affects Panasonic Sky Digiboxes.

Re: How to cure channel pixelation problems

I noticed if you are watching SD television on say a 42" HD TV then you will get pixilation due to the upscaling of 480x320 to 1366 or 1080. Unfortunatly you cant really cure this unless your watching a HD program.

Re: How to cure channel pixelation problems

I have a Sky+ box and a Panasonic Sky box both connected to an amplifier which feeds the signals to other rooms in the house. There is one dish.

The Sky+ box has no problems and provides excellent picture and sound quality.

There are severe pixelation and audio problems with the Panasonic box on a few channels and the problem gets worse when there is a preponderance of white on the tv image.

I have followed the instructions and the problem has not resolved itself.

Can it be an LNB issue if the Sky+ box presents no problems at all?

      All suggestions gratefully received

Re: How to cure channel pixelation problems

This is a well known problem with some Panasonic models. Look at the "Picture" menu and change the video setting from RGB to PAL. It won't help the picture quality but, if it solves the "breaking up" problem, it proves that the tuner module is faulty. Digifix specialises in fixing this fault.

There's also a problem with Thomson and Grundig models. In this case it's the power supply capacitors that need to be replaced.

Re: How to cure channel pixelation problems

I have Sky multiroom, with one Sky+ box and 2 Grundig "normal" boxes. One of the Grunding boxes is pixelating on a few channels -mainly the terrestrial ones (via Sky). What are my options...

      a) try the above LNB thing (is that for Panasonics only?!?)
      b) Get Sky out to fix the problem - What is their charge for this?
      c) Switch boxes to see if it is a box problem or an LNB fault (I know I should do this first really!)
      d) try and source a second hand digibox.

I have tried re-booting the box - but to no avail.

any help or suggestions gratefully received

      Cheers!
