      Strange behaviour with sky box.

Last night all of the programs set to record from the planner on my sky box & now the EPG is very slow & seeks the program info.

Is anyone else having a similar problem
      David (Plymouth)

I know 2 people who have been experiencing this exact problem for some time + there are many others reporting it elsewhere on the web.

'No listings available' showing in the guide for where the series linked programme should be will be the reason behind them not appearing in the planner.

First thing to check while it's happening is the signal strength & quality for both inputs.
If they are ok, then a planner rebuild usually fixes the problem, albeit only for a few days.

The recent prevalence of this issue does suggest that it's not down to individuals set-ups, particularly because in 99% of cases the signal strength & quality reported is fine.

I have been having these issues for a few weeks and I did a planner rebuild which cured it for several days, but I can see that it is slowly creeping back in again.

I have the latest firmware on my DRX895.

Re: Strange behaviour with sky box.

Lots of new-ish boxes are getting firmware problems recently (so I've heard from the "engineers") so it might be a software issue which will be fixed soon or it might be an equipment issue where you can get a guaranteed fix for 65 with 90 days warranty, or 30 for the visit if you moan enough.

An often overlooked saving is...You can also claim up to 1 months loss of service from the first date of calling about the problem to the service call (visit) date (you need to ask for this, it isn't automatic, so be nice to the advisor who books your visit!) so it may cover a lot/all of the visit cost.
Obviously this depends on package and delay to visit.

My advice would be to make sure that you confirm all your [or the account holders] details when you call Sky and make them do a full troubleshooting so there is a log of you calling to report your problem.

My problem is only since the latest firmware update.

So, it is probably the firmware at fault.
