Do Sky give new boxes or used/refurbished ones?

So do Sky give new or old boxes for new installs, as someone I know got a used one when he joined few weeks ago.

Asking because on his box there were 2 recorded programs to be watched on the box, on the day it got installed and the box looked use (wear and tear marks).

Its the standard Sky+HD box he's got.

Normally you would get a brand new one, although I guess Sky could argue, that they can provide what they want.

If it were me, I would ring the installer and tell him you ain't happy etc

They don't get paid until a period of 30 days have passed without a complaint from the customer. Ringing the installer does not affect his 30 day period and you are giving the guy a chance to replace it without him having the risk of his payment being delayed.

If that produces no results, then I guess you could speak to Sky, and explain the fact that it was preused and that you would like a brand new one etc - But be polite at all times.

Normally an installer would leave his card, for the reasons I stated, give the guy a chance first to sort it out, if there is no contact number for the installer, then the only course of action you can take is to ring Sky.
